Aman & Lucia present a few songs they love, and that have inspired them, all the way from jazz classics to more contemporary artists like Gretchen Parlato, JP Cooper, and Esperanza Spalding. While Aman and Lucia have often worked together in the past, this will be their first performance in their new duo avatar. // Sentirenla Lucia is a vocalist from Nagaland, India who has found her forte in R&B, neo-soul and jazz-fusion music. After receiving a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, Lucia relocated to Boston, Massachusetts and graduated with a degree in vocal performance. In 2009 she was part of Bill Banfield’s jazz/R&B band Jazz Urbane, and has performed with them at Scullers and the BeanTown Jazz Festival. Lucia has also performed with artists such as Tata Vega, Joey Blake, Rhiannon and Larry Watson, and has recorded with John Blackwell while she was with the Prince Ensemble. In 2012 she founded Phoenix Anthology with the purpose of bringing diversity in music and to give musicians in Nagaland the opportunity to experiment with different genres of music. Lucia has performed with Semper Soul as their lead vocalist and also the lead vocalist for the Boston-based GB band 51-Soul. She also appears with a cappella groups Sung Deep and The Singing Tribe. In addition to being an active performer, she has also worked with Zumix, a Boston non-profit organization that was honoured by the White House as a 2011 recipient of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, as a teaching artist.
